Topiaries

Create and grow an ivy topiary for your home. Build a classic form - wreath, ball or cone; or design your own form with materials provided. Plants are in 4" to 6" plastic pots. You may choose to bring your own 6" decorative pot. Save and bring the paper-covered wire ties used for plastic bags.

Orchids 101 - Julia Massolin-Walas
Orchids will be for sale at the end of the program.
Artistic Exhibit: A line design using branches, and only one
flower.
Horticultural Exhibit: Wintering over. Bring a plant that thrives
outdoors in the summer, but is brought in for the winter.
Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Suffield Emergency Aid.
December:
1 & 2 Hatheway Holidayfest
Phelps-Hatheway House, 55 South Main Street
This year the Club will be participating in Holidayfest by decorating one room in the Phelps-Hatheway House. Other town organizations will also be invited to sponsor a room for the event to be held the first weekend in December

Artistic Exhibit: Decorate a hostess gift (cookie tin, wine bottle,
homemade bread, etc.) using fresh materials. Accessories and
ribbons are allowed.
Horticultural Exhibit: Display three evergreens or berried
branches, tied as a swag.
Workshop - Flowers for your Holiday Table
First Church of Christ Congregational
Bring your choice of fresh flowers, your container and any other decorative accents (glass balls, ribbon, etc.). Some themes for your arrangements will be provided in advance. Holiday greens and fillers will be provided. Instructor will provide techniques and guidance.

Workshop - Terrariums
First Church of Christ Congregational
Plant a terrarium. Inside a closed glass container, plants function in their own little ecosystem which is self-maintaining. Participants must provide their own glass container (fishbowls, large brandy snifter with a glass plate cover, large glass vases and cylinders. Michaels sell terrarium containers; Marshalls has had glass vessels with covers. Plants and all other materials will be provided. Limit 15, Time, date, and fee: TBA
